During the international year of Eco-tourism 2002, Delphinia Sea Conservation together with other operators, founded the Italian Society of Eco-tourism, which aim is to define and promote eco-tourism as a quality product (www.ecoturismo-italia.it).

Within this context, Delphinia's eco-cruises have been chosen as pilot project to finalize
the "Eco-tourism" label in the sailing sector.

Delphinia took part to the drawing up of a Charter on Eco-tourism to which it committed itself on the following points: - Low impact on the environment. - Support to the local economy. - Support projects on the environmental protection. - Development of the natural heritage. - Members information. - Quality and security.

This holiday style proposed by Delphinia Sea Conservation since 1999 is the result of twenty years of sailing and the realisation of scientific programs in open sea to study marine mammals. It is an important source of self-financing for the activities of this non-profit-making organization.
